We aim to create a more sustainable way of living in the Gryffe Valley area.

Sustainable Gryffe came into being when in 2022, interested residents in Houston and Bridge of Weir came together to identify practical steps towards more sustainable communities in the Renfrewshire/Inverclyde villages.

After public meetings and reaching out to the wider community to identify priorities for our work, we promote and enable more sustainable living and work towards improving the natural and social environment in the Gryffe valley area. We gained charitable status in 2023.

Reduce. Reuse. Repair.

At our Repair Café we hope to share repair skills so that rather than throwing things away, we can continue to use them.

This will reduce landfill, reduce costs of buying new, and reduce the carbon footprint associated with buying new items.

We also hope it will help us value and share skills in the community generously and become more connected to our neighbours!

We look forward to also providing opportunities to share resources, such as through a tool and/or toy library or similar initiatives.

We are still getting set up – and would love to hear from you – particularly if you have repair skills!

Where we can make a real difference!
