The July Repair Cafe was a great success! It was a scorcher of a day but our volunteers had brought some fans which kept it nice and cool. As usual, we had amazing home baking alongside hot and cold drinks for people waiting on repairs. The Cargill Hall has an outside area for bike repairs while indoors, we had five repair stations for textiles, electrical and general household items. We particularly love to hear the stories of some of the items we repair, such as the 50 year old vase, or the handknitted baby blanket that will keep the third generation of babies warm. All volunteer repairers were kept busy for the duration of the Repair Cafe, and luckily we also didn’t have to turn anyone away and managed to get to all repairs. We had 29 visitors and 11 volunteers made it all happen. Our next repair cafe will be on Saturday 9th August from 12-3pm at our usual venue, the Cargill Hall in Bridge of Weir.
